Coffee Filter Easter Egg!

Materials Needed:
· Coffee Filter
· Food Coloring
· Drinking Straw

Instructions: Cut the coffee filter into an oval, egg shape. Measure out about 1/4 cut of water into a glass dish or cup. Add a few drops of food coloring at a time to the water until you get the desired color. Repeat this for however many different colors you want. Once your colors are mixed you can use the straw to add colors to your egg shape.

Dip a straw into the desired color. Cover the end of your straw with your finger so the colored water stays in it. Move the straw to your filter and hold it over the area you want colored. Remove your finger from the end of the straw and the colored water will run onto the egg!

Repeat this for as many colors as you want to use. For more variety use both a large drinking straw and a small straw made for stirring drinks.

Once you are done coloring your egg, set it aside to dry and then display it with pride.

What you need:
  • Coffee Filters
  • Spray bottle with water
  • Washable markers
  • Clothespins

What you do:
Let kids color coffee filters with washable markers, then spray them with the spray bottle. Twist and clip with clothespin. This will make the butterfly wings. Once the filters

Five Tips from Gwenn Schurgin O’Keeffe, MD, FAAP
Keeping Kids Moving!

From the tip to the base, here is the “Children’s Activity Pyramid”:

  • Reduce time spent with TV and video/computer games; don’t sit for 30 minutes or more at a time
  • Two to three times a week, engage in playtime and fun activities like dancing, martial arts, swimming, and tumbling
  • Three to five times a week, engage in real aerobic activities, from biking to soccer to old-fashioned games like tag and hide-and-seek (20 minutes or more is the goal for these activities.)
  • Everyday, as much as possible, play outside, use the stairs, help around the house and in the yard, pick up toys, walk, etc.
  • Have fun!

Better Inc.

Better Inc.'s Charter

"It starts with one.

One prayer. One act of selflessness. One commitment to act. One team with unwavering resolve.
Better Inc. is an organization established to grow God's Kingdom and provide love, hope and spiritual renewal. We serve the needs of refugees, children and the downtrodden through: charitable giving, micro-enterprise, youth based programs and infrastructure development.

Unlike standard non-profits or mission based organizations, Better Inc. uses a combination of stateside and ground teams to amplify the impact of resources. This means that more money goes to serve the need not the administration."
